Meet Madison Gladney, Our New Community Engagement Coordinator

Meet Our New Community Engagement Coordinator: Madison Gladney

We’re excited to introduce our newest team member, Madison Gladney as the Community Engagement Coordinator at Green Living Science! Born and raised in Metro Detroit, Madison brings a deep connection to the Detroit area, and is passionate about making the city a cleaner, greener, more accessible place for all.

Her passion for social justice sparked early in her education. Attending a school that instilled the values of human rights and preparing future generations to face global challenges, she knew from a young age that she wanted to be part of something bigger. That passion grew as she pursued a degree in Social Relations and Policy from James Madison College at Michigan State University, studying the complex interconnections between public policies and the diverse groups they impact in the United States.

While at university, Madison found her stride, diving into courses on environmental justice, communications, and public health. Her understanding of how these topics intertwine with recycling, sustainability, and community engagement makes her the perfect fit for this role, where she’ll work to bridge the gap between park stewardship and recycling in Detroit.

Madison joined Green Living Science because she is inspired by their mission to make Detroit cleaner, and the empowerment and advocacy that this position helps residents embody through Our Backyard Detroit and Recycling Ambassadors. Her love for the city and its people shines through in everything she does, and she’s ecstatic to get engaged with the community!

When she’s not working, you can find Madison cozied up enjoying a good thriller or fantasy novel, or exploring the Metro Detroit area with her friends.

Please join us in welcoming Madison to the Green Living Science family! We look forward to seeing her help grow our community initiatives and bring fresh energy to our mission of a cleaner, greener Detroit.
