Transforming Detroit into an environmentally friendly city is a lofty goal, but it’s one we are passionate about and will not stop striving to achieve.
As a nonprofit, a great deal of our support comes from the community, that’s why we need and ask for your help. Green Living Science (GLS) is your opportunity to help inspire school children, families and communities to make small changes to make Detroit greener, one step at a time.
No matter which of GLS's programs is your favorite, you can be sure that when combined with other donations, your funds will go far.
With support from GLS donors like you we are able to:
Provide Pre-K lessons to teach the youngest Detroit residents
Present the 3R's to K-8grade students at assemblies
Host cohorts of High School Student Ambassadors - giving them an in depth view of STEM careers and inspiring them to become life-long environmentalists.
Coordinate Community Recycling Ambassadors — who supported GLS in signing up 39% of the new recycling carts in 2021 in the city.
Bring back Earth Camp for 6-12 year olds to spend a week learning about Earth — and why they should protect it.
Attending a DPSCD's Earth Day celebration with our STEAM machine plastic recycling trailer and spending the day filled with lessons, activities, and games for the students.
Let us know what your favorite GLS program is, and how you're going to celebrate the Earth.
You can contribute to GLS with cash, check or credit card. GLS is a 501(c)3 registered nonprofit and all donations to GLS are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Checks made out to Green Living Science or cash donations can be sent to 1331 Holden St. Detroit, MI 48202.
