We offer a variety of services to help you create a sustainable recycling program at your school!

Partnering with Kroger as part of their Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative, we will help 5 Detroit schools get FREE recycling for their facility

Apply by April 30th to have your school be considered! 

FAQs

  • Who will be picking up the recycling?

    • ​The service will be provided by the Detroit Recycles commercial recycling program.

  • When will the program start?

    • The recycling program will funded from June 1st - July 31st. The school can continue to pay for the service for it to continue, or will need to reach out to the city by April 2027. Payment will be added to the building’s property taxes.​

  • What type of container will we get?

    • Our staff will confirm the correct size of bin that can be serviced at your facility. It will likely be a 450 gallon container or some 96 gallon containers. ​

  • What materials can we recycle?

  • What cannot be recycled?

Parents meetings

 

We conduct recycling workshops for parents to educate them on the city of Detroit's curbside recycling program.

 

All parents in attendance will be signed up to receive a FREE recycling cart for their home.

 

This allows students to practice the 3 R's they are learning in school at home!

Recycling pick-up

 

We will connect you with a vendor to set up a recycling program that fits with your school.
 

Materials you can recycle include: paper, plastic, metal and cardboard.
 

Annual Cost: Estimated $900 - $1,800

FREE paper only programs are also available
*Price varies per the needs of the school*
